  1. Wash your hair and towel it dry. Do not wait for your hair to be completely dry.
  2. Once your hair is almost dry, apply hair shine serum and styling gel. The shine serum and styling gel will give your hair a shiny look and it will also hold your hair at the same time.
  3. Secure a ponytail at the nape of your neck with bangs and all your hair brushed up.
  4. Once ponytail is done, twist sections of your hair and make it into a bun
  5. Use bobby pins to secure your hair in place.

This chignon technique will need to be done one night before. You will have to apply pin curls to your hair located around the front portion of your face. You will have to sleep in the curls. Here are the steps on how to recreate the pin-curl chignon hairstyle:

  1. After sleeping in with your curls, the next morning, secure your hair in the nape area into a ponytail without touching the curls in the front portion of your hair.
  2. After the ponytail, twist your hair and make it into a bun then secure it with bobby pins.
  3. Once the back portion of your hair is done, remove the pin-curls in front and spray light-hold hairspray to secure the hair-do.
